I . . . Want . . . To . . . Spend . . . Money

It's a terrible urge. I want to browse online stores and order stash - books, yarn, needles, whatever. Knit Happens, One Fine Yarn, Hip Knits, anywhere they sell supplies online.

Please send intervention. I am trying to save money. I cannot . . . spend . . . until . . . I knit more of my current stash. Arrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh!

help.

Or you could give some of your stash away to make room for more. ;) Me, I fill up my online cart with all sorts of goodies but then I can't seem to hit the "proceed to checkout" button when I see the total. And I worry about duty/customs (since it seems most of the stuff I drool over is on the south side of the border).

Don't know if this will help much. But what I am doing to help quell the urge is to just keep researching for the "best" yarn and the best deal. Keep looking at books, patterns, etc. That seems to keep me occupied enough. Then if I let myself feel just enough guilt... and start piling up the list of projects that I have yarn for already. That seems to do it.

i thought i was the only one to feel that way. it's like an itch that needs to be scratched.

are you strong enough to order online and put things in your basket without buying. that helps me sometimes. ;)

I live across the street from a mall! Trust me, when I tell you that I know exactly how you fell.

Put a small amount of money aside that you can spend on something, but make sure that you know this is all you can spend until (insert time frame here). I find, that if I can grasp the consept that this small amount of money (10-20 dollers) is all I can spend for fun until next paycheck, that I spend quite a bit more time looking for that winning item. When you spend more time shopping with a smaller budget, I alos find it help to stop that craving after one purchas.

I know exactly how you feel. Even with a craft budget... there's always something that I just need to have.

In times like these, I always look to Oscar Wilde for advice. In this case he would say that "the best way to rid one's self from tempation is to give in to it."

I know it doesn't help, but you have to admit it's true. ;-)

Glad you are back! I kept checking in for the longest time, and figured that you just gave up the blog...imagine how surprised I was to find you back again! :)))) How's the spinning going? One can never have too much yarn...I just wish I had more time to play with it.

I feel your pain...

I have all of this cotton that I acquired over the summer--I must have been very ambitious, or thought I would be...anyway, the girls will all have very cute Spring things to wear next year, because I am stubbornly refusing to buy anything until I use all the stupid cotton! HA!
